This book is about a puppy who is always last to do everything. He is the last puppy to be given away, but he realizes it is okay because he is the boy's first puppy.

This book could be used to teach kids that being last isn't always bad.
The last puppy to be born* is also the last to do everything else. So when it's time for the litter to be adopted into new families, guess who's last? The happy surprise is his new owner's cheerful welcome.

* birth is shown cartoon-style with his little head sticking out of mom's bum!
A sweet story about a young puppy who always does everything last. Opens his eyes last, drinks from a saucer, and also finds a home last. But the little boy who finally picks him looks at him and says "Your my first puppy". A great easy read for young students.
This book is about puppy who was always the last for everything out of his litter. He did not want to be the last one to be picked to go home with a family. However, he was the last one to be picked. He ended up going home with a family who had a little boy, and the little boy told the puppy that he was his first puppy, so the puppy was not the last anymore. I liked this book because it shows that even if it looks like you are always last its not always that way.
The Last Puppy, is a precious story about a dog who always does everything last. At the end of the story he is the last puppy left from the liter. The little boy who picks him up at the end of the story tells him that he is his first puppy! This is a really sweet story and it is appropriate for beginning readers.
This is a story about a puppy who is always last. When him and all of his brothers/sisters are being given away to new homes he is once again the last puppy to be chosen. He was sad until his new owner exclaims, "You are my first puppy." This is a great story to read to a student who feels like they are always picked last. You could even read it to the whole class to show that picking people last hurts feelings. I would recommend this to kindergarten or first graders.
This book is about a puppy who was always last. He was the youngest pup of nine other puppies. He was always the last one to eat and the last one to get into the dog house. One day the owner decided to sell the puppies and he was wondering if he would be last. People came and went and then he was the only puppy left. However, one day a little boy came and picked him out and took him home. The little boy told the puppy that he was his "first" puppy!
