This is the second book by Kindle that I have read and let me tell you I am in love with this author and her stories. She has a writing style that is truly awesome. I love how her stories flow together and she always seems to make me feel what I am reading.
Always is a VERY emotional read. Not in a bad way, but in a way that you will feel this story and you will feel like you are right there beside Avery and Kane. I knew within the first chapter that Kindle was going to test my emotions and I thought I prepared myself, but damn was I wrong. Kindle had me a blubbering mess while reading this wonderful story.
Avery and Kane have an amazing love story to tell and I will say that this is one that you need to experience without reading show more reviews, to get the full effect of this one. I immediately felt connected to these two men in the first chapters. You will to I believe.
Avery is a lawyer and an up and coming Senator, destined to follow in his grandfather's footsteps. The only problem is American is not ready for an Openly gay Politician and Avery has hesitations about running.
Kane is the owner of a very popular restaurant in town where Avery is headed to start his Senator Race. Kane comes from a very Christian family where is father is a pastor, But once he told his family about himself being gay he was estranged from them.
Once Avery walks into the restaurant and spots Kane for the first time, he realizes he will do whatever it takes to make Kane his.
This is a story of a forever kind of love. These two men show you the lengths they go to and the things they have to get through to be together, Although there is some hesitation in the beginning from Kane he learns over time that there is no way to turn your feelings off for the one you truly love.
Kindle knocked it out of the park with this story. I am going to be reading EVERYTHING else she has written to date and I will continue to read anything she writes in the future. She has definitely become an Author I will follow and stalk in the future. show less
This book really was a mix for me. I spent all day reading it, yet I wasn't really into it until the last 40 or 30%, and I didn't really get emotional until the last 10%. One of my absolute favorite things is a historical time-lapse book where a relationship is shown over the years, so I really wanted to like (or love!) this book, but I just couldn't get into it until close to the end. And after that ending, I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars, but when I look back at how I felt for most of the book, I have to be honest with a 3.
As you can see from my status update, the first 60% of the book was romantic and pretty, but monotonous and repetitive of the same few sentiments ("I love you," "this is perfect," "I'm so happy," etc.) so it bored show more me, and I kept looking at the estimated time count down (in my Kindle app) and had to push myself to keep reading.
Then around 60%, the book picked up and the character ran into some (minor) problems and the ride got a bit bumpy, but then they solved the problems very easily. Then there was some sadness and hard stuff to get through, but it didn't really get me going.
Then, for the last 10% it made me tear up and hurt for the characters, then made me smile at the ending, but it still didn't have that major of an effect on me.
The biggest, most important thing for me in any book is the emotional connection that I make with the characters, and I didn't get that in this book. From the beginning the book was heavily dominated by sex (which continued throughout the book, where many scenes were so similar, they could have been mixed up and placed at other points in the book, and it wouldn't have changed the reading experience or plot one bit). And it was filled to overflowing with saccharine sweet repetitions of everlasting love and emotion, which I usually completely love, but when it is spoken ad nauseam, and feels like it is the only thing said in a book, then it becomes unbelievable and boring to read.
It was beautiful and a lot of fun to think back to way before I was born, imagine their lives changing over the years, and traveling through time with them. Don't get me wrong, I don't regret reading the book. And I would absolutely love to have a husband like one of them. But in a book, it was just too romanticized and repetitive and simple for my tastes, especially when the book seems to include mainly the good things for most of it. While reading I wanted more drama, something challenging to actually happen. And then when it did, I didn't feel connected to the characters, so it didn't really impress or affect me much.
Another thing to mention are the grammar mistakes. There were so many missing commas and hyphens, noticeable word and sentence hiccups, and my biggest pet peeve in this type of book: inaccurate ages and accounting for the years that have passed. One example is that between chapters 23 and 25 there's a niggle. Chapter 22 and 23 are set in January and February 1990, respectively, and talk about moving the family at the end of that school year to Washington, DC, but then Ch 25 is set in 1992, and talks about how they had moved in 1991, so I think it's mislabeled. Which makes a lot more sense than otherwise, 'cause I think it was talking about how Autumn was 11, which would have been untrue if it was 1990,since she was born in 1980.
So overall, this book was romantic and had some beautiful sentiments and scenes, but it was just too repetitive and sugary sweet after a while, especially when they hopped over the few problems they encountered like they were nothing. But I still recommend it if you like romanticized plots and very sweet writing with a tear-jerker ending, and if you don't mind the negative points that I brought up.

I absolutely loved "Always" by Kindle Alexander. This was my first for this author and I was completely sucked into the writing style right away. I loved the characters and the story of their love had me sobbing at the end... ugly snot tears. I'm so glad I listened to the recommendations to read this book. It's going on my favorites list. If you love a good love story, I would highly recommend this book.
Happy Reading... enjoy!

My heart is shattered into a million tiny little pieces. If you don’t believe in the afterlife then this isn’t really a HEA. It is still a beautiful love story about two kindred spirits though
This is a beautiful, sweet romance. It follows the relationship between two men over 40 years. The reader gets to see all the ups and downs of true love. This is the holy grail of relationships, the type everyone wants yet many never achieve in a lifetime. It's real.
This is only my second read of a M/M book. Kane & Avery were definitely a couple who were meant to be. There was no denying their souls belonged together from the beginning. I really felt the connection to them and their story was one to make your heart happy. THey struggled, but all in all the book was about a happy couple pursuing their happy lives together. I liked that the chapters were told from both their perspectives and that they were like real people for me. I hope you can enjoy this book as well.
Avery and Kane, absolutely amazing story. I love all of Kindle Alexander's books, but this is top on my list. The love between these two men is breathtaking. A great love story for anyone.
