This tale is very relatable to children the same age as the main character. As children we have all been anxious to be the class helper, line leader, etc. But what happens when we aren't patient, this book was a cute read.
This book is about a second grader and a hamster. The boys name is Sam. This book has a couple of chapters. He sits in the back of the classroom next to the hamster named George Washington. Sam takes George Washington to the field trip. This was a good read to teach patience, and the result of not being patient.
Sam is tired of waiting to be Hamster Helper. So when his class takes a trip to the science museum, Sam decides to bring along something extra. Companion book.
