There was the time before Tessa met Hardin, and then there's everything AFTER... Life will never be the same. #Hessa

Tessa is a good girl with a sweet, reliable boyfriend back home. She's got direction, ambition, and a mother who's intent on keeping her that way.

But she's barely moved into her freshman dorm when she runs into Hardin. With his tousled brown hair, cocky British accent, and tattoos, Hardin is cute and different from what she's used to.

But he's also rude—to the point of cruelty, even. For all his attitude, Tessa should hate Hardin. And she does—until she finds herself alone with him in his room. Something about his dark mood grabs her, and when they kiss it ignites within her a passion she's never known before.

He'll call her beautiful, then insist he isn't the one for her and disappear again and again. Despite the reckless way he treats her, Tessa is compelled to dig deeper and find the real Hardin beneath all his lies. He pushes her away again and again, yet every time she pushes back, he only pulls her in deeper.

Tessa already has the perfect boyfriend. So why is she trying so hard to overcome her own hurt pride and Hardin's prejudice about nice girls like her?

I thought that this book was pretty good. I didn't really like the whole storyline, I think that needs a little work, but I like the way Anna Todd wrote it! ( )

Light and serious and predictable and addictive, all at the same time ( )

“She took my hand, led me out of the darkness, and showed me that whatever our souls are made of, hers and mine are the same.” Falling in love is the most beautiful and amazing thing, we as humans, we are put on earth for one thing, we search for it our whole lives, and we pray one day we will find this………… its love.

The conflict in this book is that Tessa is a seventeen-year-old girl going to be a freshman in college and still dating her high school boyfriend Noah. Tessa has always been the typical good girl type and innocent. She then meets her college roommate friend, Harden Scott, a bad boy player known for his past and having a rich father. Harden gets Tessa to like him, and then she cheats on her high school boyfriend with Harden. They break up and Tessa falls in love with Harden and betrays her mom and ex-boyfriend Noah's trust and love.

The main characters in this novel are Tessa and Harden Scott. Tessa is altruistic, ambitious, empathetic, bright, studious, and well-behaved. She is described to be very shy, innocent, and soft-spoken, as well as, sensitive. She is an introvert, preferring to stay in to read or watch a movie than go out to a party. Hardin is very charming, crude, mean, and sarcastic. He is the typical bad boy. Before Hardin met Tessa, he only cared about feeding his ego and chicks.

Love is the primary theme of ‘After.’ Though ‘After’ features other major themes, love stands out as the leading theme. ‘After’ equitably describes how one feels and the choices one makes when in love, be it good or bad. Throughout the novel, love stands out as one of the most important emotions, from the characters Hardin and Tessa’s intense love to the love between Landon and Dakota, the love and friendship between Landon and Tessa, the love between Ken and Karen, and even the love between Tessa and Noah. The birth of some of the primary themes in ‘After’ came from the feeling of love.

I recommend the novel “After” by Anna Todd because this book is full of teen drama and romance about a girl Tessa who just started college, and she's got everything planned. “After” is always wanting you to read more and more, but if you don’t like or can't handle reading about emotionally abusive young relationships, and losing your sanity from wondering what will happen next while reading, then maybe this book is not for you. So if you love detailed, intense, good romantic reads and enjoy reading about mistrust love, then this is the book for you. ( )

I keep going back and forth on the rating for this book. I liked it, but I hate that I liked it, and not in a good way. ( )

4 because this has one of the best plot twists in an over dramatic new adult style romance. ( )
