In this charming little book, we learn about all the important and hardworking vehicles that move around our cities and towns, helping us in many ways, always getting their jobs done no matter what the season is. The fire truck puts out fires, the tow truck rescues cars... and the garbage truck, well, he just collects the trash.
But, who will help them all when a terrible blizzard storms in and the whole city has to come to a complete standstill??? SUPERTRUCK to the rescue!!!
All the trucks, big and small, are stuck and cannot complete their jobs. But Supertruck puts on his plow and digs the whole city out! The other trucks are so grateful... and wonder, who is this marvelous vehicle?
First of all, the cuteness starts with brightly colored show more and captivating illustrations. Each page is filled to the brim with minimalist drawings and colors, giving each vehicle its most known quality shape and color to stand out and easily be identifiable.
Second, the simple storyline is quite engaging. After the first few reads, my one year old scramble off to go find his trucks - not only did we match most of them to the pictures in the book, but we also played and made sure to give Supertruck time to cover his identity, just like Superman. I adore books that encourage my kids to get up and play while reading it!
A sweet book for the little superhero/comic book lover in your family!

While tow truck and fire truck are out performing rescues, mild-mannered and bespectacled garbage truck "just collects the trash." It takes a snowstorm and an attachable snow plow to turn him into Supertruck! Simply told and simply illustrated for a young audience, this is a story of doing your job simply because it's the job that needs to be done. I like it!
Note: Despite its snowstorm theme, this one should be popular for the 2015, "Every Hero Tells a Story" summer reading theme.

This delightful book won the Geisel Award. A story about trucks in the city - a garbage truck, a bucket truck, a fire truck and a tow truck. Who can help them when the snow makes them stuck.... Super Truck! Read along and see how the little super hero helps the the garbage truck, the bucket truck and the fire truck. No one knows who it is! A great story about jobs in the city, super heroes who might just be every day trucks. My grandson loves this book and noticed all of the details on the trucks -- color, smiles, sad faces, no color and glasses/no glasses. It was fun to talk to him about the differences between city and country, too.
Supertruck, by Stephen Savage, follows a truck who must save a city that is in trouble after a giant snowstorm. I think that this book will be very relatable to children because it contains two of their favorite things: snow and giant trucks. The sentences are simple and short so this would be perfect for a read-aloud to young children. The illustrations are also very charming and pleasing to the eye.
Simple concept done with humor and a slight tweak to the classic secret superhero trope. Very cute.
Not a fan of the illustration style. The story is good but I wish there was a little more to it. We'll see if H gravitates to it again or if one read and we're done.
Got requested to read this three times in a row every night for a week now by my 2 year old. I'd say it's a super book!
