I'm of two minds about this book. On the one hand I liked its plot, its structure, and the writing dialogue etc. But on the other hand I was actively rooting against a good portion of the characters. Also I think for the first time in a while I was mostly rooting for the two leading ladies to Not get together.

It's usually the other way around for me, sometimes I don't love the plot or the writing/structure, but I love the characters. Not in this book. No matter what I tried I couldn't get on Alex's side. She's the free spirit city girl. She rides a motorcycle (and at times seems a bit abnormally attached to it), and is best friends (or is it more, or less?) with a fellow motorcycle rider Will.

Elly is the other main character. She's new show more to the city, a more subdued country girl trying to make it as a graphic designer in the big city.

They'd met previously in dramatic circumstances, and had a whirlwind night, but then they stumble onto one another again in the city, and from there the story goes forward with a fairy usual lesbian romance fiction story line.

As I said, I liked the plot, the writing, I just had problems with almost all the characters in the story except maybe Elly, Charity (who was my favorite character in the story) and Eric.

I got this advanced galley through Netgalley on behalf of Bold Strokes Books.

This book is terrible. 250 pages of reading about what everybody is eating and no conflict whatsoever except for the insipid relationship between Elly and Alex, which isn't even that conflicted. I started skimming halfway through and then just gave up entirely about 3/4 through. Don't waste your time. There are so many good lesbian books out there. This is not one of them.
