Sophie's mom is NOT a helicopter parent; she takes her to the park, but Sophie's on her own to find a playmate once she's there. Who does Sophie find? A goose!

Fun to read aloud, mostly because "goose" is so fun to say. Sophie resembles a Quentin Blake (Roald Dahl) child, and the goose made us laugh - definitely a contender in the "character from a children's book tattoo" category.

Re-read at storytime November 2023. A perfect storytime book for the toddler and preschool set!

This is a very cute story about an unlikely friendship. Sophie longs for a friend to play with, and surprisingly she befriends a goose, but when it is time for Goose to fly away for the winter, Sophie is sad. Sophie is ecstatic when Goose returns and her mother agrees to let Sophie take goose home.
Little girl finds a goose, who eventually goes home with her. Big bold pictures.
