Elizabeth Kerr raises puppies for Canine Vision, and is raising a lab named Beauty. She has broken up with Scott, and her pregnant older sister has returned home after breaking up her boyfriend. Alternate chapters allow us to get to know Kyle, a 15 yr. old high school student whose diabetes has led to blindness. His fear of dogs makes him unlikely cand.
