Baz and Shea are phenomenally created. The story-line keeps you intrigued. You can't help but to get lost in this heartbreaking and heartwarming story. Secrets. No story of this magnitude would be complete without secrets and pasts. These are key components to this story. They also bring this story together. As of late, I haven't been one for the rockstar themes. They seem to have been played out. This book isn't like other rockstar books... And I am thankful for that. Baz isn't the uber bad-boy player and Shea isn't the weak damsel. These characters are both strong and relate-able. Overall, this story is beautiful and swoon-worthy from the beginning to the cliffhanger end! Yes, I am sorry you cliffhanger nay-sayers. This is the first book in a series. So stop your whining. It's A.L. Jackson... deal with it. Get over it. And read it! Cliffhanger or not, this is one of those books that will be in your head for days after. We all know what that means... It's hangover factor out-weighs your dislike for cliffies! (I personally love them, so long as they are done right!) For some reason I couldn't fall completely in love with these characters. I wasn't super feeling their romance. BUT I loved both of them for the way they take care of family. He's so protective of his brother. That hooked me. And I connected with her so much because I was a single mom with a young kid at one time. She's a great mom. I appreciate a story with a excellent mother. That ending really shocked me. It was an on no that did not just happen situation. Now, I need to continue the series to see if the dirtbag gets what he deserves. This review was originally posted on Bookish Things & MoreReview
A Stone in the Sea had me all over the place. I’ve been in sort of the same situation as Shea, and I can tell you, it’s terrifying. How do you know you aren’t making a huge mistake. Sebastian is a total alpha male. He just oozes sexiness, even when you know he’s got trouble written all over him. But he also has very tender moments. He has a messed up past, and doesn’t know if he should really pursue anything with Shea. He doesn’t want to drag her into the madness that’s his life. There were so many ups and downs, and I loved the every minute of it. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. That ending was a doozy. no reviews | add a review
