Danny has run away from his abusivi father—life on the street is hard but better than home. He has always felt like he hasn’t belonged. The secret is revealed when he joins a most unusual group of street kids. Maybe the magic he feels is real. Good read.
Urban fantasy from before the genre was almost entirely smut. Less gritty than the kind of hallmarks of the genre (Bull and Windling), but still reasonably dark in its portrayal of homeless street life at the time for youths and others, without that being the sole focus of the book. Similar for the background of abuse for one of the main characters.
Like some of Reaves other original world (shattered worlds) this was fine, but not outstanding or incredibly memorable.

Almost immediately forgettable but an easy way to kill a couple hours.
This is a cheap and easy fix of fluff urban fantasy. Basic plot: abused street kid believes in Magic and discovers, eventually, that magic really does gosh darn gee exist, and he will find a way to make it to Fairyland or else.
There are a few other interweaving story lines and characters which are, unsurprisingly, faintly more interesting than the protagonist and primary plot, but Reaves seems to add characters with a "the more, the merrier" mindset, frequently missing the point of character development entirely.
It isn't an actively bad book, but it is entirely unexceptional.
