Description

"Molly Harper writes characters you can't help but fall in love with" (RT Book Reviews), but how did Andrea and Dick Cheney fall in love? Join Half-Moon Hollow's favorite couple for a trip down memory lane—to a time when Mr. Wainwright was newly dead, Jane Jameson was a newbie vampire, and a budding paranormal romance was not yet uncorked...
Half-Moon Hollow's supernatural social event of the season—Zeb's Titanic-themed werewolf wedding—is coming up, and Dick Cheney (not that Dick show more Cheney!) needs a date. But Andrea's had enough of clever, handsome, and rakish to last a lifetime, and Dick Cheney is certainly not the sort of man you bring home to mom (not that Andrea's deadist parents are speaking to her ever since she dropped out of college and became a blood surrogate.) Shameless, relentless, roguish, with a Stetson-worthy swagger, a naughty sparkle in his eyes, and a constant smirk—oh, and fangs—no, Dick is the last person (er...vampire) Andrea wants to date.

But the infuriatingly irresistible man who lives quietly on the edge of a criminal underworld knows exactly what he wants, and once he surprises Andrea with a thrilling hot and dirty kiss behind the paranormal bookshop, she knows what she wants too: Dick. All it takes to ignite their unconventional courtship is a near-undeath experience that confronts Dick with a choice between turning Andrea, losing her forever, or tapping into his countless shady resources in this hilarious and heartwarming enovella that revisits the early days of Molly Harper's Nice Girls series—one that "makes me laugh and laugh" (USA TODAY).

Most of my readers have been following me long enough to know of my unabashed love for all things Molly Harper. When you combine her words with the talents of Amanda Ronconi, my hero worship cup overfloweth. Fangs for the Memories is just another novella in a long line of novellas in this series I have loved and unabashedly enjoyed.

My only complaint is that the story is not long enough. I so enjoyed getting to know Andrea a bit more and watching Dick Cheney show surprising depth in his courtship of her. I wanted more of their story because they are just so darn cute together!

I love these quick dives into the wacky world of Half Moon Hollow and the chance to get know some of the secondary characters a bit more thoroughly. They are breezy show more reminders of why I love Jane, her friends and family, Molly, and Amanda. show less
Fangs for the Memories by Molly Harper is the latest book in the Half-Moon Hollow series. It is the story of how Andrea Byrne and Dick Cheney (the vampire) became a couple. Andrea Byrne is a blood surrogate for vampires in the area (you can only drink so much bottled blood). Andrea is not interested in a relationship and keeps pushing Dick away. Andrea had a bad experience with a vampire in college that has affected her whole life. Will Dick be able to get past Andrea’s defenses? Will Andrea be able to look past Dick’s manners and inappropriate t-shirts?

Fangs for the Memories will keep you laughing! I just loved this unique and quirky short story. We get to see a different side of Dick as he helps out Andrea (spoilers). I give show more Fangs for the Memories 5 out of 5 stars. I like that it was included in the series, but it did not repeat a lot of information from the other novels. We get to see a different perspective of Zeb and Jolene’s wedding (which is just hilarious). I love the setting, the characters, the great, snarky comments, and the uniqueness of this novel (and the series). In order to understand Fangs for the Memories, you really do need to read the other books in the series (you will want to read them).

I received a complimentary copy of Fangs for the Memories from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was ecstatic when I found out that Molly Harper was going to have a novella that covered Andrea & Dick's courtship. I wanted to see what happened to make them a couple. We don't see much of the transition in the Jane Jamison series, and Fangs for the Memories gives us that small little tidbit.

I love how feisty Andrea is with Dick. He can be an jerk at times, but he really is a big softie. His pretty much has a hero complex when it comes to people he cares about.

Their interaction after her incident as a blood surrogate is absolutely adorable. I love how twisted they can be with revenge. It's pretty dang funny. It was also good to see Zeb's wedding from another show more perspective. Just wow.

I love Andrea and Dick. They definitely bring some comedy to the books, and Dick's shirts are awesome. Seriously, they should be sold!

If you are a fan of the series, you should definitely pick this one up. Fangs for the Memories is a quick read and full of laughter.

I received an ARC from Netgalley via the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I have yet to read a Molly Harper book that I didn't absolutely love! Her snarkiness and characters are amazing. This was a great quick read and even though it was a short novella there was lots of humor, quirky characters, romance, and some drama thrown in.
Very short book but nice filler for Dick Cheney backstory with his blood donor wife to be. I do think that each of these women getting huge chunks of money serendipitously is a bit over the top but delicious and lovely wishful thinking come true for someone.

First Thought when Finished: Fangs for the Memories was a cute look back at Dick and Andrea's beginnings. I will be honest that I wanted more to both the story and their romance but it is Dick and Andrea. I already loved them so any amount of time I get to spend with them I enjoy. Could have used more Dick t-shirts and humor but still a fun way to spend an afternoon :)

Caveat to my rating: This would have been lower had I not known the characters. This is by no means a stand alone novella.

This tale takes place quite a bit earlier in the series, beginning the day Mr Wainwright dies. This is Andrea and Dick’s story.

Cute humorous story that rounds out some of what we know about these two characters and how they got together.
