This is the story of Val Hudson, who blames herself for her husband's death. She then has to deal, not only with her guilt, but also with finding out that her husband had secrets.
It is also the story of Gus, who is dealing with the death of his autistic brother and with a challenging relationship with his mother. He reads about Val's story in the newspaper and basis his second novel on her husband's death. Unbeknownst to him, Val is publishing his first novel.....
While the characters were well developed and the interaction between Val and Gus isn't your typical made-for-tv special, I still found nothing extraordinary in the novel. Enjoyable, but forgettable.

Gripping story that leads you gently onwards from one revelation to another.
