Jakubowski is well known as a collator of erotic short stories, which to some extent attests to his appreciation of the erotic, and here (with Marilyn Jaye Lewis) he has performed a similar service for erotic images. This collection presents the monochrome work of more than 75 of the world's most accomplished photographers of the female form, with six or so examples of their work being offered in each case. The collection is impeccably tasteful, and it operates as much on the level of the photographic art as it does on its erotic focus. It is well presented and printed, and is highly enjoyable in browsing mode, giving an experience that is uplifting as well as stimulating. A collector's volume, indeed

Following a distinguished career in publishing, he opened the world-famous Murder One Bookshop in London in 1988. He is a winner of the Anthony and Karel awards, a frequent TV and radio broadcaster, past show more crime columnist for the Guardian newspaper, and Literary Director of London's Crime Scene Festival.
