Description

“I’m afraid there’s been a car accident...”

As Hannah Ryan waits for her family to return home from a camping trip, she realizes she has everything going for her—a husband other women admire, two charming teenage daughters, and a loving Christian home. As the sunny afternoon turns into twilight, her uneasiness grows along with the shadows. Then a car pulls into Hannah’s driveway, bringing two police officers...and devastating news that shatters her life forever.

In the days that show more follow, Hannah struggles with unspeakable feelings of sorrow and rage—feelings that fuse into one chilling purpose for living: revenge against Brian Wesley, the drunk driver who has caused all her pain.

In her fury, Hannah shuts the Lord out of her life. She’s determined not to forgive Wesley or the God who allowed this tragedy to happen. Can two caring people help Hannah rediscover her faith...before bitterness destroys her?

I had a hard time liking the main character, Hannah, even after she came back to God. Otherwise I thought the book was a good lesson on what happens when you let hate take over your heart and why Jesus wants us to forgive others.

This book was very good and surprisingly honest about the consequences losing a family member can have on the people left behind. I loved the fact that Karen Kingsbury wasn't afraid to have her characters struggle with God and even hate him at times. The only reason this book wasn't five stars for me personally was that the ending seemed too happy, too quickly. Perhaps I'm a little Pyrrhic in my victories, but I would have loved the remaining daughter to die and for the mother to realize just how much she sacrificed in her pursuit of revenge. Whichever way it turned out, I still think this book is great and would certainly read it again.
This story touched me in so many ways. Having lost someone I love in a car accident I was in, I related to the characters. The story had me crying, feeling hope and recognizing I needed to tell someone that I forgave them. I had shown them by my actions but never said the words.

When a book helps you realize something you could be doing better, it is a great book.
Karen Kingsbury’s books are always in a category of their own. Waiting for Morning pulls you in right from the beginning just like her others.

Hannah Ryan has the perfect life…until one man’s choice destroys it all in one devastating instant. Her husband and 15 year old daughter are killed and her other daughter suffers severe depression. Unable to forgive the man who caused the accident, Hannah first blames God then decides He must not exist. She pours all of her energy and time into making sure Brian Wesley, the drunk driver, pays for destroying her family…pushing her surviving daughter away in the process.

Emotions run raw and honest in Mrs. Kingsbury’s books and this one is no exception. I could empathize with Hannah’s show more anger and Jenny’s agony. Yet the power of God’s love and mercy is so powerful throughout. His will is always clear…”Forgive and you will be forgiven.” Wonderful book!

I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group in exchange for this

this book took an unexpected twist when a faith full family is torn apart by a drunk driver kill's a husband and daughter and severly wounding the other daughter in the crash. A mother sits waiting her family to return from a annual end of summer trip when time passes she knows something is wrong ,a police man comes to the door ....their has been an accident. Hanna's world is turned upside down as she turns against God and get s on a destructive path to seek vengeance on the drunk driver .I couldn't put the book down the beginig was a little harder to get through but once the story unfolds its amazing. Very strong message to any Christian s feeling lost or mistrusting their faith in God. I would recommend this book to everyone.
When a drunk driver kills her Brian, her husband, can Hannah ever forgive him and rediscover her faith??
