Description

Continuing with his Tomie' stories, about an eternally youthful and perfectly beautiful girl who inspires people to commit murder, Volume Two promises to invent new ways to shock you. For instance, who'd have thought of making sake out of the remains of the killed and hammered-to-mush Tomie? See? It's crazy! Junji Ito promises to entertain you in the most cracked, yet pretty ways.'

The second volume of Museum of Terror shows off Junji Ito at the height of his powers as an artist and storyteller. Encompassing the second half of his Tomie tales, this volume runs the gamut from creepy, eerie, and macabre, to disurbing, revolting, and nauseating. Often times it made me itch all over my body. In other words, it's profoundly evil and ingenious.

The Tomie stories, like Uzumaki, show Ito's skill at taking a simple premise and exploring every sinister permutation imaginable... Tomie's body mashed up and added to sake; her hair insinuating itself into a girl's brain; her sliced-up face dividing and proliferating like a supernatural malignancy.

In short, any fan of horror in any medium should do themselves a favor and check show more out this volume by the best horror mangaka ever and one of the best in any genre, period. show less
