Ok, so this book follows Alisa. Only Alisa. She isn't one of my favorite characters, to begin with. Luckily the story was interesting, but I'm not sure how it ties in with the main plot. Again I think this book could have been cool as a side novel, but to be set in the middle of the story is actually a bit irritating to me. I probably would have still read it eventually but I'm just annoyed that I feel it interrupted the natural flow of the story again.
Other than that though, I did like this story. It's a bit happy, sad, spooky, romantic. It has a lot going on. Maybe it was just the author's writing style. But Alisa really didn't feel a whole lot different from when we read from Morgan's point of view. I'll be happy with the next book show more being back on track and on to the main story again. show less

In this book Alisa runs away from home to meet her mother's family. Yep, they are all witches. At first it is a bit odd and some relatives are happier to see her than others. She also meets a charming young witch, unfortunately he is already dating her cousin. She may also find the source of her seemingly uncontrollable magic and help her family in the long run.
I really enjoyed this book. We find out more about Alisa and her family. The change of location was nice too. I only have two more books in the series. I am going to miss it when I finish.

Unlike Cherry Ames, Sweep didn't disappoint at all this year. Despite another move away from Morgan as the narrator, the story was gripping and intense. It is exactly the kind of easy-to-read, full immersion book that is perfect for enjoying holidays.
Again in this story in the series the focus is taken off the usual central character. The main character in this novel is Alyssa Sotto. She has just found out that she is a half blood witch and against all odds, she is pretty powerful. In this book things get pretty bad for Alyssa and she runs away from home in search of her mothers family who are all blood witches. She discovers the family "ghost! and is able to uncover the mystery behind it. She also manages to pinch her cousins boyfriend!
I enjoyed this book as much as I have all the others in this series and I am looking forward to the final installment to see how everything turns out for them all. It inspires me to do more reading and research of a witchy nature.

Great Series..This one was a neat look into Alisa Magikal Family.
A dark wave is coming. Can Morgan, Hunter, et. al stop it or is it the end?
