Ever since he rescued her from Diego Fuentes' compound, Kell's only duty has been to keep Emily safe. But Fuentes isn't finished with Emily—or Kell. Tired of her father’s overprotectiveness and interference in her romantic relationships, Emily Stanton wants more for her life. Enter Navy SEAL, Kell Krieger, the one man Emily has always wanted, but could never have … until now, when a dangerous drug lord has set his sights on her and Kell is the only one standing in his way…
The best installment in a series that has been pretty lackluster.
Kell and Emily have sensual and steamy chemistry alongside an emotional attachment that has been missing in the previous books. Although Kell’s backstory is more detailed than that of the heroes in the first two books, it still isn’t as developed as it should be. Nevertheless, it adds another layer of depth to his show more character and does more to explain his possessiveness than Reno’s and Clint’s.
Emily desire for independence and her new found backbone make her a likable heroine. She does have one or two TSTL moments but considering the circumstances she can be forgiven.
The suspense plot has some good twists and turns although I’m still unclear as to Fuentes’s true agenda. Moreover, are we suddenly supposed to see him as the lesser of evils because there are some heinous crimes that he will not commit?
The identity of Fuentes’s son came as no surprise though and it will be interesting ton see where Leigh takes this in the next book. show less

Oh my God, this series is making me crazy it's so good! These books just keep getting better every sigle time and I can't get enough of these crazy yummy alpha SEALs. Kell was a lot to take in an his relationship with Emily was something to behold. One of the things that I like the most about this series is taht despite the obvious erotica touch, the plot and storyline are incredibly fun to read and they just sweep you off of your feet. Emily was a great character and I loved how strong minded she became throughout the book. Awesome!
Lora Leigh's transition to Romantic Suspense did not, in any way, lower the heat factor of her books. Good story, well-developed characters, and unforgettable scenes. Lora Leigh delivers!

The Navy SEAL team code named Durango Team has been tasked with protecting Senator Stanton and his daughter Emily from the latest threat posed by drug cartel kingpin Diego Fuentes. But playing bodyguard to the adventurous Emily is tricky when just keeping up with this hellion is a full-time task!
Enter Lieutenant Kell Krieger. He has known the Stantons for years, and watched Emily for most of that time between missions. Being assigned to personally protect Emily guarantees he’ll be in close contact with the aspiring writer 24/7, but she’ll not find it as easy to scare Krieger off as she did all of her previous bodyguards. He knows what makes her tick, understands her frustrations, and intends to show more show her how to spread her wings while keeping her pretty little butt safe from all threats. Still, the capable SEAL finds the Senator’s daughter more than a handful, and her mere presence menaces his normally unshakeable control.
He just needs to keep her safe until Durango Team uncovers the mole who has been feeding information to Fuentes and has demanded Emily’s death. But keeping his heart safe from Emily proves to be the real challenge…
Okay, I will admit it up front. I am a fool for sexy Cajun men, and Navy SEAL Lieutenant Kell Krieger tops my list of men fitting that description! Lora Leigh’s fourth installment in her Tempting Seals series continues the ongoing saga of the Durango Team’s mission to defeat the evil Diego Fuentes and the drug cartel leader’s continuing attempts to retaliate against the SEALs and their loved ones for the battles they’ve already won against him. This series captivated me from book one, and Hidden Agendas further entrenches my love for these hunky SEALs!
Emily embodies the poor little rich girl type heroine, having been held captive by a life a privilege, denied the freedoms enjoyed by most due to the dangers surrounding the daughter of a man in her father’s position as a Senator and ex-SEAL agent himself. She bucks against his control and the stifling presence of the revolving door of bodyguards he saddles her with. While most of us have not grown up in her specific situation, it is still easy to identify with her as a woman who is fighting for her independence.
Kell is the perfect hero for Emily. Having suffered unbearable tragedy in his past, he is a man who needs a woman who can stand by his side, not behind him. While certainly he tops the list of Alpha Males, he is strong enough to allow his woman her independence she needs and freedom to determine her own destiny. Indeed, he bolsters her courage and determination to stand up for herself, winning her heart and locking their souls together forever in the process.
If you loved the suspenseful storylines in the previous Tempting Seals editions, then you will be gratified to know that Hidden Agendas is fraught with just as many twists as the stories that preceded it! Leigh managed to throw me some curve balls, and kept me sitting on the edge of my seat until I turned the very last page.
Of course, while the story wraps up some of the mysteries, the author leaves plenty of room for sequels, which I am itching to get my greedy little book loving hands on!
This series knocked my socks off from book one, delivering all of the sexual intensity you expect in a Lora Leigh book, coupled with the sweet romance and happy ending she can always be relied on for. show less

I continue to wish that there were more books to this series. I am sure that Ms. Leigh could have come up with as many characters as her Breed books. Alas it wasn't meant to be. This is the fourth story in this series with only one full book and novella left. This is a very good story and a wonderful contribution to the overall series. We do get rid of one of the bad guys but there are several left that need to get what they so richly deserve. We also have to resolve Ian's defection. Which just about tore my heart out. Even though Ian and Kell were only briefly mentioned in Dangerous Games they have found a soft spot in my imagination.
Kell is a Cajun through and through. Even though he comes from two very rich families his life hasn't show more been easy. I am not sure I wouldn't have done something to the Mother for her betrayal. I think that she got off easy by dying in a car crash. Kell has grieved for 15 years and now he realizes that it is time to put the past behind him and claim the woman that has fired is heart and soul. He is a warrior as well as a romantic. He can be as cold as ice and burn up the sheets in the next paragraph. I love that he was willing to let Emily have her adventures and to train her to take care of herself and any children they will have. Kell is also loyal to a fault. I was glad that Emily convinced him to make up with his grandparents.
Emily is a typical Navy brat. Her father gave her a taste of adventure and she wants to continue doing the things that he allowed her to do when she was a child. She is very competent driving and she has taken lessons in how to fire a weapon, use a knife and how to fight. She is always researching some new idea for one of her books. Emily is also a kindergarten teacher. Which I think is very cute. She loves her father even though he has been and overbearing, protective ass sometimes. When Kell finally decides, thanks to the ever nasty Fuentes, to take Emily to bed she realizes that she loves Kell. I liked Emily for the post part and I hope to see her in other stories.
Ms. Leigh writes a good suspense story with a plot and covers several books. Her villains are always despicable vermin that really need to be taken out of the gene pool. The action scenes in this book are enthralling. The sex scenes are super spicy and steaming hot. Ms. Leigh also has added some secondary characters that I really enjoyed; Kira Porter and Jordan Malone. I was also glad to see Nathan Malone finally rescued. The story is very good and a quick read. I love the series and look forward to the next book. show less

I don't know why I picked that one from the series, but boy I'm glad I did! Kell is everything an alpha-hero needs to be and Emily, though she was treated by everyone like she was a fragile princess, certainly didn't act like one.
I enjoyed it very much and now I can't start the series from the beginning because I'm itching to read Ian's story; I couldn't help but fall for him...

Emily, daughter of a U.S. senator, is in danger of being kidnapped by a big-time cartel boss. Kell Kreiger is the hardcore SEAL assigned to protect her. The twist--she's been half in love with him most of her life.
This is the kind of book I love to kill a free afternoon with. It's fast-paced and diverting without any hints of angst, pretension, or overt sappiness. The plot plays second fiddle to the uber-hot relationship between Kell and Emily. Obviously part of a related group of books, but stands on its own well enough. The characters are interesting, the action is entertaining, and the sex is great.
This book has two things I love--hot smut and alpha males. For that, I'd say it's worth a glance.
