Jared was much more complex, much more damaged than his brothers. A bit darker. But in a way, much more sensitive than everyone else. These Sinclair men are very heavy handed and overbearing. I don't always love that about them. But I do like when they finally realize they have met the one for them. They all fall hard. I adore the town "matchmaker." She's right on the money with hooking up the Sinclair men with their perfect matches. I like how we saw a lot into Evan's life. I hope the next book shows us why he's such the loner.
Trying to choose which book I love more in this series... I simply can't! The Forbidden Billionaire may just take the cake as I devoured Jared's story. Everything about him is so loveable yet he couldn't see through the pain of losing two people he loved. After catching his best friend and college girlfriend together, his heart broke. They died that night in a car crash and he blamed himself. Marra helped him get past all of it and he fell hopelessly for her. She gave him everything he could possible want in life. I loved how their story came together, how it all unfolded and how they connected. Next up, Evan! He showed a hidden softness to Marra and now it's his story to learn. I can't help but feel that I will fall in love with his show more character - oldest brother, protector to the core! show less
I bought the first five books through my second-hand bookstore in my city. I read the first book and the prequel two years ago. Well, I am enjoying J. S. Scott's writing. Her male protagonists are such loveable and alpha heroes who would do everything for their women. The Sinclair men are not different. The importance of the family is important, something you don't see a lot.
Mara is sweet, caring, and proud, while Jared is fierce, caring, and controlling. Jared and Mara make a beautiful couple. Now.....throughout this story, you learn about Evan, and let me say that I am very intrigued and looking forward to his story, and his woman will manage to break the stone wall he has built around his heart.
In this book, we find two people show more looking to find love, acceptance, and a sense of being wanted and needed. There are many twists and turns to this book. It is an amazing read that you will not be able to put down once you start. I highly recommend not only this book but all the books in this series. show less
Had me from the beginning. Could not put it down. It's nice to read a book where the main character is someone you can relate to (curvy). Jared does not try to change her. He falls in love with her just the way she is.They both have past that they want to forget Jared more than Mara. They build their relationship by helping each other. What a great story. Can't wait to read the next in the series.
