Teaching Kindness

This is a sweet book and a nice choice to read aloud for World Kindness Day. The illustrations are beautiful.
Elementary students of all ages will enjoy this picture book. This book is a fabulous tool to discuss what it means to be kind. Kindness is all around us, whether we are at home, school or out in the community. Kindness goes a long way and makes a huge impact in our everyday lives. This book gives a lot of examples about being kind that students will be able to relate to.
A simple book with a culturally diverse illustrations that gives many examples of what kindness is. It touches base on random acts of kindness, treating others with respect and our environment kindly.
Summary: This book goes through what actions can be taken to show kindness to each other. How to be polite and helpful around the environment you are in. It begins with a girl in a red hat who has the courage to be kind to a new student in her class. After her act of kindness, the kindness spreads and kind act after another until the whole community experiences what it means to be kind.
