With The Hometown Hoax, Ms. Thurmeier composed a story that is somewhat idealistic but cute none the lest. This read reminded me of the saying " one person's junk may be another's treasure." Tessa saw Cutter's Creek for everything it lacked and was not. Maybe because it was her hometown and she wanted more than to be cut off from new experiences, new people and a different environment. Logan saw it in the opposite way because he had already experienced fast paced living and adventurous experiences. The Hometown Hoax is a story of perception, deception and distinguishing between the two. I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review. The heart of this book is finding out what is most important.
This is a fun, light-hearted story with a few improbabilities that are used to make the story work. If you go with it, you will find a cute, small town story with interesting characters and a few surprises.
