The Score, the third installment in Elle Kennedy’s Off-Campus series, is an absolute standout—and easily my favorite of the series so far. This book brings the perfect mix of heat, heart, and humor, all wrapped up in a classic opposites-attract romance.
Dean Di Laurentis is the charming, sex-loving hockey player who wears his playboy status like a badge of honor. Allie is the emotionally grounded serial monogamist who’s just broken up with her long-term boyfriend. When she holes up at Dean’s place to avoid a messy breakup aftermath, their steamy weekend turns into something far more complicated—and far more meaningful—than either of them anticipated.
The chemistry between Dean and Allie is off the charts, but what really makes show more this book shine is the character development. Dean, in particular, shows surprising depth beneath all his bravado, and watching him fall—hard—makes for a deeply satisfying read. Allie is strong, relatable, and the perfect match to challenge him at every turn.
Full of witty banter, spicy scenes, and unexpected emotion, The Score hits all the right notes. Whether you're already a fan of the Off-Campus series or diving in for the first time, this book is a must-read for anyone who loves college romance with a whole lot of heart. show less

4/4.5 Stars | White-Hot Steam
I spent New Year’s Day curled up in literary ecstasy, feverishly devouring the first keeper-shelf release of 2016, Elle Kennedy’s dazzling and unforgettable, THE SCORE. Fresh, lively, unexpected, engaging, affecting and utterly sensual, Allie and Dean’s frisky and fiery charmer of a romance surprised, sizzled and thoroughly satisfied me from cover to cover. Unquestionably the steamiest installment of Kennedy’s spectacularly sexy Off-Campus series to date, THE SCORE delivers a blazing-hot-next-level-incendiary New Adult story that left me positively breathless and craving naughty, naughty things!
In the first two novels of the series my resounding and underwhelming impression of Logan and Garrett’s show more exhibitionist teammate Dean was that of an unapologetically gluttonous manwhore. Never was I more shocked and elated to discover that the real Dean is solid swoon-inducing perfection! Instantly lustable, effortlessly lovable, irrepressibly endearing and insanely irresistible, Dean is a filthy-mouthed erotic fantasy whose tantalizing words, wicked promises and preternatural prowess crowned him the king of all luscious heroes before him. That delectable hockey player knows his ever-loving way around a woman, lives to burn it up and thoroughly and repeatedly worships his lady with the voracity and stamina of a bonafide sex god. He’s not all sex—well, he’s mostly sex—but he’s also smart, funny, sweet, kind, loyal, thoughtful and caring. Dean is the best of the best and permanently seared a simmering place in my overheated soul.
Allie is a sparkling and delightful heroine—highly likable and relatable—and the ideal match for Dean. Her plucky strength, straightforwardness, compassion, vulnerability and humorous personality swiftly won Dean’s heart and mine. And—oh my goodness—when Allie unleashes her inner vixen and reveals her adventurous and unabashedly brazen side, I simply adored her. That girl is a straight-up boss in the bedroom! She shamelessly commands, directs and meets Dean’s insatiable hunger, blistering talents and unbridled passion stroke for blessed stroke. Reading that enviable pair get down and deliciously dirty every which way in scene after scorching scene of page-turning-standing-ovation-worthy carnal abandon was pure heaven, and I couldn’t get enough!
I absolutely cherished THE SCORE and plan to nurse my intense Dean and Allie inspired book hangover with a prompt and leisurely re-read to savor it all over again! I can hardly wait!

Not going to lie, this series is legit good. I am continually surprised how much I enjoy the characters and the plots. The spice level doesn't hurt either! The Score is the third in the series although you can easily read this as a standalone. It follows Allie as she navigates her senior year and what she wants her future to look like. She and her boyfriend of three years have just broken up because he expected her to drop her dreams so she could help him pursue his (rude). But now she must decide between Hollywood and Broadway. To further complicate matters she has a passionate steamy night with campus' biggest player. He's a big hockey star, loaded, and handsome. The problem is Allie doesn't do casual, and Dean doesn't do show more relationships. What could go wrong?! Cute, sexy, and fun. show less

Venturing back to Briar University campus, we move down the bromance roster and get to see the inner workings of one Dean Di Laurentis - a.k.a. Mr. Sunshine himself. This time, we have the added bonus of bringing back one of our favorite characters, Allie Hayes. When we first met her in The Deal, she was the supportive best friend of Hannah and making things work with Sean. Now in The Score, we get to find out who Allie really is and how life doesn't always work on the way we plan.
Life as Allie Hayes knows it, is about to change. For better or for the worst, that is still up for debate. After one fight too many, Allie finally decides to pull the plug on her long time show more boyfriend Sean. Granted, she has broken up with Sean countless times but it never sticks; however, this time will be different. She's older, stronger, smarter, and has ever intention of hiding like a coward at her best friend’s boyfriend house where Sean wouldn’t think to look for her (or be greeted by overly protective hockey players if he did manage to track her down). All she needs to do is stay away from her phone - no calls, no texts, no meetups. Open heart surgery would be easier but Allie is determined to stick to her guns. So much so that she has enlisted Dean Di Laurentis to take possession of her phone to avoid any temptation. It’s the least he could do after his snide babysitting comments. Yes, she may have interrupted what looked like a “Dear Penthouse” moment for Dean but this was a crisis! Dean, on the other hand, knows the perfect way to keep Allie distracted but a one night stand girl she is not. Well she didn’t think she was until she woke up the next morning with a tequila fueled hangover and chest slamming recall of the night before. Desperate to right a horrendous (yet insanely enjoyable) wrong, Allie demands the night is forgotten, declares it won’t happen again, and puts as much distance between her and Dean as possible. Easier said than done as Allie just delivered the best night of Dean’s life and he isn’t quite ready to forget.
I always enjoy Elle Kennedy’s books and The Score is just as mind-blowing as the rest. The universe (or in this case - University) she has built has become a second home. We know these guys! I feel like I have been invited inside of this sacred family and get to see where life takes them. Having read the first two books, we know where Logan and Garrett go. Now we see how life is panning out for Dean and Allie.
What I loved the MOST about this book was how Dean taught Allie to love who she was and not let anyone else make her feel less than. He showed her that labels are just words without meaning - we have to give them meaning to do any type of damage.
While I am sure there are words to describe the intensity of spice in this book, none come to mind. Dean really brought it out of Allie or at least unlocked the door she had it hidden behind. These two together was like poor gasoline on an open flame!
Each of these books draws you in, makes you laugh, make you cry, and reminds you that no matter what age - life always has something to teach you. Kennedy provides a peek at what's to come in The Goal and I can't wait to crack that one open! show less

Too much.

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that I will forever and always love a good hero named Dean. Such swooning! Such feels! Such lust! Such hockey! This series is EVERYTHING, and this is probably my favorite (so far). Come for the hot hockey romance, stay for the very sex-positive very anti-slut-shaming sweetness.
UpGRADE upon reread to 5:
What happened here? I have no idea why this was only rated a 4 from my initial reading (unless I lost a .5 from my import over to GR?)
I love a reformed playboy (hello, especially ones good at the seduction and worshipping). I love the exhibitionism. I love athletes (oh and he's great with kids? *Faints on couch*). I love this series. Tears burned my eyes around 85% with how familiar what Allie went through in that scene was and how she gave me all the feels. So what gives with the 4?
So many of the scenes from this book are memorable, I'm not sure what I was thinking before. I found no goatees, so it couldn't have been that.
Anyway, this is one of my favorite series, and I apologize for the weird review from my show more confusion based on my first rating of this book. Someone must have hit me upside the head. show less
