It's Halloween night in the city, and the narrator invites one and all to the hip-hop Halloween ball! Characters from famous fairy-tales, ranging from Jack (of Jack and the Beanstalk) to Puss-in-Boots, from Rapunzel to Goldilocks, are each invited to "Shake, shake, shake dem bones now," and join the pumpkin-headed MC in dance...
With a rhyming, rhythmic text from author W. Nikola-Lisa, and bright, colorful artwork from illustrator Mike Reed, Shake dem Halloween Bones would make an entertaining read-aloud selection at a Halloween-themed story-time. The inclusion of so many fairy-tale characters adds to the sense of fun, and is sure to please young child readers and listeners, who will enjoy meeting up again with names that many of them show more will already know. Recommended to anyone looking for more poetic, read-aloud tales for Halloween. show less

This is one that my son requests over and over, although it's not my favorite. I am assuming that there is an actual tune or beat that I should be reading to, but I don't know what it is, so I make up my own which is fine with my kids. Twists on several nursery rhymes with beautifully colored illustrations.
I enjoyed this book a lot. Rhythm was great throughout the whole book. Great pictures and could teach beat and rhythm along with this book. Good for 1st to 2nd grade.
It's Halloween night. The city is quiet. The city is still. But as the lights go down, the music comes up - and the guests start to arrive at the hip-hop Halloween ball! And oh, what a party it is.

This is a fun way to get your children and students up and moving! It is a great book to read as Halloween is approaching and it has the children wiggling and shaking all about ! My students loved reading this book!
Fun halloween books. It will have kids shaking their bones along with the fairy tale kids. Nursery rythme characters make an apperance at a Halloween ball. I would use this with PK-K grades durning a Halloween theme. I think the sing song that goes with it.
This is the funnest singalong for Halloween ever!
