Frank Miller's Complete Sin City Library

I got this for Christmas the year that the movie came out, and while initial trailers had touted how close the movie was to the GNs, I hadn't quite realized how literally they meant it. It is actually like reading the movie, to the point where you can recognize the actors in the illustrations at times--illustrations drawn years earlier. Seriously.

The quality range is, of course, all over the place, as with most collections. Most of them begin as pure, wonderful neo-noir and then spiral into patented Miller phantasmagoria (emphasis on the "gore"). Except for the one with Miho on skates. I still don't know what the hell that was about.
