That New Animal was a cute book that explains what it's like getting a new addition to the family from a dog's perspective. When a new baby arrives at the house, the dogs are not having it. They start acting out and don't like how they don't get all the attention anymore. When they realize the baby isn't going anywhere and that it isn't so bad after all, they finally get use to the idea of having someone new in the house. I loved this book because this happens a lot in my family. My whole family loves dogs and every time one of my sisters has a baby, their pups have to get use to someone new in the house.

Dislike the use of "hate" in the book, especially one targeted toward itty bitties. There are so many other great words that could have been chosen instead. Also, grandpa is unknown the dogs? He never visited his son/daughter in their home prior to this moment? The new parents never shooed the dogs away so he could hold his grandchild? Silly issue that would go over most kids heads, but annoying none the less. Other than these 2 points, this had the potential of a great story; initially I was thinking it would be a great new big brother/sister gift. Oh well...

A must-have for any new parent with pets. Gracie was with us while I read it to Henry, but I don't think she got the message.
This funny book is about 2 dogs getting familiar with a new baby in the family. The book is told in the view of the dogs. Therefore, the new baby is a new "animal" to the dogs. They are a little jealous of all the attention the baby is getting so they start to be bad. The dogs do everything they could to gain back their attention. Eventually they learned that they could all share the attention.
Two dogs start acting out when there is a new baby in their home. They realize that the new animal isn’t going anywhere and I their animal to hate and just to like a little bit. I love that the book is in the dogs’ perspective because this happens most of the time with new babies and dogs.
This book is telling a story as two dogs’ perspective. Through their conversation like human being, it tells us acception and toleration is important thing to people. When people are trying to accept something, they will find some advantages or benefit, not only the bad aspects.
Dogs Marshmallow and FudgeFudge don't like that new animal (a baby). But soon they realize that the new animals is not so bad and is part of the family.
