Banting as an artist

An interesting curiosity. A friend of Banting's contributes a potted biography of the man, while artist A.Y. Jackson talks about his travels with Banting as the two of them painted the Canadian landscape, particularly in the far north. The pictures are black and white and are well worth looking up online. Banting was an accomplished artist and he wears the Group of Seven influence well. Recommended for those who like the Group of Seven and for those who like their scientists to also practise the humanities. Also recommended for those who admire Banting in general; this book was recommended to me by a friend who has Type 1 diabetes and therefore considers Banting one of her favourite people.
