Wow! What an introduction for a new series!

Ari is exactly the type of heroine I love - smart, funny, SARCASTIC, and strong. This is no shrinking violet - when life hands her a tough choice she steps up to the plate, and takes charge of her future. Raised in Portland, with no hint of mystical or mythical, Ari has always had an affinity for the night. Now that "strangeness" is starting to make sense as her mother has fallen into a coma, and the only way to save her is for Ari to agree to marry one of seven brothers - vampires - in order to determine who will rule Hell.

Each brother has been cursed with one of the seven deadly show more sins, and she must spend a month with each brother in his realm of Hell before deciding whom to marry. First up - Fen, Prince of War. Fen had originally decided to pass on his month with Ari as he has been tasked with seeing to her safety, and has all ready spent some time watching her in Portland. However, when it seems there is a plot afoot which has actually killed their father, the King, he changes his mind.

This story is well written with many intricate details which help you empathize with Ari, and the writing team of Karpov Kinrade has definitely mastered the art of descriptive writing so that you can imagine yourself in the story. I can't wait for book 2! show less

When I saw a post promoting this book on Facebook I had to check it out...upon viewing the trailer, I was hooked and I needed to know more. I was lucky enough to be home to watch TWO live feeds from the author(s) and I knew I had to buy the book. So I did. I was already reading two other books but I just had to put them aside (no offense at all to the other books which are shaping up to be quite good themselves,) because I was just TOO intrigued at the premise of this book. I was NOT disappointed. I began reading around 10 p.m. last night and even being an adult and having adult responsibilities to take care of and 3 kids at home, I've managed to finish by tonight! That is how GREAT this book is, it will keep you reading, keep you show more interested and keep you wanting to know more and more and more about this world! I was drawn in by the complexity of the characters, and the uniqueness of the story. It's lovely to find a book with so many of the classic paranormal elements but is still so very truly it's OWN book. You've got Princes who are Demons & Vampires, you've got folklore that spins in a different direction than any vampire book I've read. You've got a war between Fae and the Vampires and Shades and Humans getting caught in the crossfire. You've got a King's plan that even after finishing you won't understand. And at the end, you'll just be DYING to get your hand on the next book (I'm assured from the live chats that we won't have to wait long though!) I'm very excited about this book and very excited to have found a new author(s) to love and I've got to get my hands on more by Karpov Kinrade as soon as possible. To wrap this all up, if you like paranormal romance, vampire stories, stories of the Fae, or any mix of the aforementioned...you're gonna want to read this book, like, now!!! show less

Vampire Girl is another smash hit by Karpov and Kinrade that will not disappoint!

There are seven men and they are the seven sins of hell, and man does it get hot!

But what's different from other books about hell and sins, you might ask? This isn't your typical burning inferno, the residents are different fantastical/mythological creatures - vampires, fae, the likes.

Our main character Arianna is a determined, strong willed girl. But, (there's always a but) she has to marry one of the demons from hell. Despite this novel being in a fantasy setting, Karpov and Kinrade wrote it in a way you could believe it would happen. Arianna seems so real, and you get attached to her pretty quickly - you feel for what's going to happen to her.

Overall, show more Karpov Kinrade does a fantastic job. I can't wait for the next book - I'm desperate to get my hands on it!

GOODNESS, I JUST LOVED THIS BOOK ! I liked and I felt sorry for Arianna's lot in life by working in a place instead of becoming a doctor due to her mother being ill. I wondered why she walked everywhere instead of a faster mode of transportation. She was attacked by a few men and then she was saved by a man that she barley knew, but that was just the BEGINNING of her troubles! Vampire Girl is an exciting, action packed novel that I hated to put down long enough to SLEEP, AND I MUST READ THE NEXT!

I did something I rarely do and that is re-read a book. That book is Vampire Girl (Vampire Girl #1) by Karpov Kinrade, a young adult fantasy/romance novel. It was different and fresh in that it had demons/vamps drinking blood. The first time I read it I gave it 3 stars but this time I found it better for some reason and it clicked for me. I really enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't like was that it was a cliff hanger. I had to immediately start reading the next book. I ended up reading all four books during the night! This would have been a 5 star book this time around, I don't know what the difference really was, but because it was a cliff hanger, I give it a 4 star. Cliff hangers are a pet peeve of mine.

I listened to this on audiobook. This is the first book in the Vampire Girl series, right now there are 4 books in this series. The story was fine but it was a pretty typical YA paranormal book. I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it either.

The audiobook was decent. I thought the female narrator was great but the male narrator was very whiny sounding and I didn't like his parts.

The book is a bit different than what you might think from the (really awful) title. Rather than being a typical vampire book it is more about alternate worlds and has more of a fae type feeling to the story.

There is some decent world-building here but that really takes a backseat to the romance. The whole premise of this book is that the main heroine is show more whisked off to a world where she is supposed to chose between seven princes to marry. She is supposed to spend a month with each and then make her choice. I didn’t really like the premise much.

The chemistry between Arianna and the first prince she stays with is pretty good. I did enjoy the scenes between them and enjoyed meeting some of the other princes.

Overall this book wasn't bad, but it wasn't really anything all that special either. I probably won’t continue on with the series. It’s not bad and if you are looking for a typical YA paranormal read involving a sort of vampiric fae I would recommend. show less

Vampire Girl (Vampire Girl #1) by Karpov Kinrade is a young adult fantasy/romance novel. It was different and fresh in that it had demons drinking blood, that was a new one for me. The romance was simple and done nicely. I felt the writing itself was too simple and lacked substance. It was a young adult novel but at times I felt I was reading a pre-teen book. I would like to have seen more depth to the characters but the plot was good.
