This is a fictional story with richly done watercolored illustrations. The content of this story is about a little boy, George, who is wisked out of his bed one night to help his dragon friend save a dragon egg. The boy and the dragon come face to face with the evil wizard who is trying to find all the dragon eggs so he can wipe dragons off the face of the earth. The last egg ends up hatching and the wizard's cold heart melts when he sees the little dragon's eyes full of love. The spell on the cold wizard is broken, and he cares for the dragons in the end. The reading level of this book is from second to fourth grade. Some curricular connections could be dragons, wizards, fiction, and fantasy.
