A delightful and amusing collection of poems by distinguished English and American poets about dogs will charm readers. Similar to today’s popular music, these poems use repetition, rhythm, and rhymes to reach the many senses. A strength of this collection is its small size, making it non-intimidating. Each poem has substantial white space on each page, appealing to reluctant readers. Young adults can easily find a poem by using the Table of Contents and Index of Authors. Most poems are short and a fast read, great for integration into thematic lessons or use during a break between assignments.
