We decided in my reading group to read a couple of children's books over the summer and this was the choice out of the hat. Something we'd never heard of. The rest of the group enjoyed it but I wasn't very enamoured. I found it slow and almost nothing happens. There is some humour in it though which made me laugh so it gets points for that. But why it won a Carnegie I do not know!
