The Reapers trilogy is a dystopian tale with a supernatural twist that takes place in a futuristic, urban setting. Two teenagers, Phoenix and Singapore, male and female Reapers, collect the souls of the dead, including wayward ghosts who wander the city streets, and transport them to the eternal Gateway, believing they are going to a better place. But are they? When Phoenix and Shanghai find a holographic recording left by a recently executed Reaper, they begin a journey to learn the answer to the crucial question: Does the Gatekeeper, the tyrannical ruler of the world, consume energy from souls in order to maintain power? If so, Reapers have betrayed every soul they have ever collected.
