When Greg finds an old video camera in his basement, he decides it's his ticket to fame—or at least internet stardom. With Rowley’s help, he attempts to make a homemade horror movie complete with practical effects and dramatic flair. True to the series, Greg’s creative ambitions quickly spiral into chaos, revealing his trademark blend of humor, sibling dynamics, and social awkwardness. Double Down stands out for exploring creativity, friendship, and the challenges of middle-school identity through laugh-out-loud antics and cartoon-style storytelling.
In this hilarious 11th book of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, Greg Heffley is once again navigating the awkward chaos of middle school life. This time, he's convinced that his mom is trying to brainwash him away from video games—and into becoming a more “creative” kid. So naturally, Greg decides to make a movie starring gummy worms, which spirals into classic Heffley-style mayhem.
Although this one felt a little familiar (a little been there done that) it was still a fun read, and I know plenty of young readers are gonna enjoy it, too!
This one feels pretty disjointed. The first half is about Greg learning an instrument and Halloween parties; the second half is about life as a grounded kid and movie making. It didn't feel like the story was cohesive at all.
Another long car ride means another good chance to read the latest Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Not the best, but it certainly has its moments (near the end!). When Everett stops reading these I will too, but they're so quick and easy.
Diary of a wimpy kid double down is another adventure in the greg heffley story. About school and halloween. He meets new friends and makes things joins the school band. Read the new installment of diary of a wimpy kid double down today.
I like this book because it gives a good representation of how life in middle school is at some parts.i am also happy that the diary of a wimpy kid franchise is not over.this book was fun to read because it mentions Halloween and how they make their own costume i also love to make stuff. This book also connected to me because the carapters meet new people and do tons of fun things.

This book starts off when Greg goes to a party on halloween. His costume was Rowley and Greg in the same costume making them look like a bigger person with 2 heads. When the party is over some guys start throwing candy and blowing their instruments at him.Greg runs back to his house with Rowley right behind him. After they get in Greg's House Greg says: were gonna call the cops But they guys didn't move a muscle. Greg actually grabs the phone and starts dialing 911. But then the guys ran away and Greg was " victorious" in a way. After that happened Greg kept a good eye on those guys cuz they could do it again any moment. When lunch started at school Greg saw Fregley doing something Greg walked over and asked: what are u doing Fregley. show more Fregley answered by saying chewing a bubble with my belly button. Greg didn't believe it at first but then Fregley made a bubble with his belly button. Greg was surprised he saw a bunch of kids crowding around him seeing what else he could chew. after that whole incident Greg went to sit down and eat lunch with his best friend Rowley. after School Greg saw Dad talking with Mom about something. Greg asked what was going on and Dad looked pretty excited. Greg was confused. Then Dad said that Greg was doing soccer finally. Greg was shocked by the news. Then he went up to his room in silence. after Soccer try-outs Greg thought about quitting well that made Dad mad more mad then usual. Then Dad said: no son of MINE is a quitter. after a while of soccer Greg thought maybe he could make a movie with Rowley. he asked Rowley about it he said it was a good idea. Then Mom reminded them that the geese were migrating this month. Greg and Rowley understood and started their movie. The movie was called: Attack of the Night crawlers. Rowley thought it was pretty cool when Greg explained it to him. after the explanation Greg's house got attacked by Geese. Rowley hid in a tree and somehow got famous the next day.
My Opinion on this book is that it was pretty cool with all the art and cool stuff like that. show less
