This is a collection of 13 stories about various nautical incidents that were unresolved or notorious in some way. Mary Celeste kicks things off with a bang, then the rest of the collection is a lot of mutinies and murder, then the book ends with the disappearance of the Waratah. Some stories contain dated language and stereotypes about people of colour, and there are probably more recent books about the Mary Celeste in particular. So not a necessary read.
