This book deserves more attention, as does the life of Nellie McClung. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nellie_McClung

What an amazing woman, known mainly for being one of the Famous Five that took the question of whether or not women were "qualified persons" to sit on Canada's Senate to the British Privy Council after Canada's Supreme Court ruled they were not, but so much more. She had incredible public speaking skills, according to this bio, and the excerpts from her speeches and writing tell the reader just how far ahead of her time she was with her insights about the current state of women, women's suffrage, poverty, alcohol abuse, relationships between men and women, and the impact of these on the lives of children. I've known about show more Nellie McClung for years, but was even more in awe of her after reading this biography. show less
