I read a book by Kay Springsteen before. So I knew what I could expect: a story which started slowly, rather too slowly and in the end became fast, rather too fast.
I got it all wrong.
The story starts fast enough and it hardly slows down.
It intertwines the stories of a marine with PTSD and a woman on the run.
I read a lot of detectives, so I thought I knew what was coming.
Every time I turned out to be wrong.
The story changes and twistes, with a lot of surprises throughout the book.
Only at the end of the book, the very, very end, the last few sentences, the story gets too gast.
A book to read.
