Ӕ Jory John writes a lot of books I enjoy (case in point, 'The Good Egg") I have also reviewed "Giraffe Problems." This one, entitled "Penguin Problems" is about a penguin who thinks he has problems.....a cold beak, he can't recognize who his parents are, etc. etc. They definitely seem like problems to him. Until Walrus shows up and gives him a piece of his mind. I am trying to recall if I did it in a storytime or not. Obviously, it did not have a lasting impact with me if it did. There is definite humor to be found (I'd play up the voice of Penguin, I'm just saying). It isn't an immediate go-to for me though. This book is great for children who worry. It follows a frustrated little penguin as they navigate the things that annoy them in life. The little penguin walks around complaining about everything that happens to them but a friendly walrus comes and teaches the little penguin a thing about optimism and how to get yourself out of a foul mood.
