I have a new favorite author. One I love to hate. She puts me through the ringer. She makes my heart hurt. She makes me cry. She makes me laugh. Her name is Ally Martinez.

Good lord... This book. Roman. Elisabeth. Clare. Unconditional love. I am reeling. How did I not know of this author before? I was riveted from page one. I barely moved from my chair. Life ceased to exist around me.that is all the proof you need to know that you need to read this book.

I really didn't expect the plot we get but that's what made it so great! Very addicting story. Roman was a little much for me but him and Lis were super cute. This isn't your everyday second chance story.

3-3.5 I love character-building. While Aly Martinez's books have great & exciting plots, some great steamy scenes, I'm not sure if I'm not enjoying her books as much anymore because that's just not enough for me. Oh, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, I won't deny that. But it doesn't stir anything deep for me.

I had the best sense of Roman of all the characters, of his motivations and desires, and his mistakes. That said, it still didn't feel like it went far enough for me to get invested.

My heart broke for Elisabeth and Roman at parts, and I luxuriated inside their love with them during other scenes. For them life instantly fell into place as soon as they met. After terrible rounds of miscarriages, infertility, IVF and the death of a child, their systems were just unable to reboot back to that happiness. Retrieval is the story of Elisabeth and Roman past and present.
This series contains two couples whose relationships couldn’t possibly be more different. It isn’t a super lengthy book, but a whole lot is packed inside: parental love, romantic love, hate, romantic wooing, heartbreak, fear, desire, selfishness, sacrifice, abuse, adoration, suspense, action and more. Clare actually show more wrecked me the most. I can’t wait to start the continuation of this duet. I’m completely invested.

This book was hard to put down. It was good from page one! It just kept on getting better. Although, it leaves you with a nice cliffhanger. Luckily, I already have the second book.

Elisabeth and Roman are a divorced couple who find their way back to each other after a visit at the police station. Granted, it wasn't on good terms. But they're back together! I was rooting for them!!

Clare and Walt. Clare and Walt. Clare and Walt. I hate Walt, as I'm sure everyone else does too. I feel for Clare. Knowing she can't leave a man with so many ways to find her.

Both couples world's collide with a mishap that happened at a fertility clinic.

This book gets so good towards the end. It's filled with action, sexy scenes and violence. Who doesn't love a show more book like that?

Roman and Elisabeth Leblanc had a whirl wind marriage. Within hours of meeting each other Roman proposed. They had an immediate bond and deep love. But 5 years later they are divorced and wondering how it all went wrong.

Clair Noir's life is a living nightmare married to a monster. All she cares about is protecting her young daughter. She knows that her husband will never let her leave alive.

Roman and Elisabeth story is the main in the Retrieval. We are taken on the journey with them from the beginning when it was all so perfect to when it fell apart and then show more through reuniting and working through what tore them apart.

Unknown to them they are connected to Clair and Walter Noir. We are shown the abuse Clair endures and wonder how she will ever be able to get save her daughter.

Lots of surprises through out and of course it ends on a doozy of a cliff hanger. The second part comes out soon where Clair's story becomes the primary. Cant wait!!! show less

Breakup of a relationship. We start the story as the heroine is leaving as she feels there is nothing left of them.
The story is realistic and very touching.
