Description

Sarah doesn't talk to strangers. Aiden won't shut up. When they find themselves next to each other on a plane, unexpected sparks begin to fly ... - - - Sarah doesn't talk to strangers. It's awkward, stressful, and there's the uncontrollable blushing to worry about. When she boards a plane to fly home after an overseas holiday, she plans to stick her nose in a book and ignore everyone around her. Aiden's terrified of flying, and it's his first time on a plane. If he can distract himself by show more talking non-stop for the entire flight, he will. Too bad for Sarah he's sitting right next to her. Against all Sarah's expectations, she ends up enjoying Aiden's company. They laugh, argue, concoct stories about other passengers, and accidentally hold hands during the turbulence. When the time comes to say goodbye, Sarah can't help the crazy thought that she shouldn't let Aiden go. Then he kisses her. And then he's gone. With her world turning upside down in more ways than one, Sarah has to make a decision: stick with the safe, predictable life that's been mapped out for her, or find the courage to go after what she truly wants. - - - Nominated as an InD'tale RONE Award Finalist in 2015, The Trouble with Flying is a sweet, clean contemporary romance that can be read as a standalone novel. show less

i have SO much to say about this bookkkk. first of all, let me just begin with slowburn sucks. okay, now on to the actual review. i loved Aiden the first page I met him. he's such a sweetheart and he deserves the absolute world. Sarah..she wasn't exactly a bad protagonist. I just wish she would've been more responsive to things. she was actually really cool tho. oh, and Matt..yeah let's just not, can't stand him at all
It's not secret that I'm a huge fan of New Adult, so of course I jumped on the opportunity to review The Trouble with Flying. How could I turn down a cute airplane romance? Things were going pretty well in the beginning until I realized that The Trouble with Flying had something many other books suffer from too- a weak, wishy washy main character.
The plot was actually decent, albeit kind of cliche and run of the mill. Sarah is headed to South Africa where she meets Aiden on her plane ride. During their long flight, the two of them connect and become pretty close. After they go their separate ways, they coincidentally meet again at a family gathering. Of course things are never that simple, for Sarah already has a boyfriend, even though show more she doesn't like him. Why doesn't she break up with him then? Because she's one of those characters, the ones that don't do anything and just fret and flail around clueless. Yeah, I admit I wanted to slap her a few times. However, there is some character development near the end where Sarah has a sudden (and by sudden, I mean like "light bulb!" suddenly) realization about her personality and finally becomes less wishy washy. Thankfully the other characters were better. Matt is your typical villain of the story aka the bad boyfriend, while Aiden is the swoony guy who we all supposedly ship with the main character. I honestly didn't love Aiden, but he was cute and a good person.
I really enjoyed the setting of South Africa and learning more about the culture. The language confused me in the beginning because I didn't realize it was written in British English or that there was a glossary at the end until I finished-oops.
But overall, The Trouble with Flying had a good plot and was a fast, enjoyable read but suffered from a weak MC.

I received this e-book for an honest review, thank you!

This is a sweet, contemporary novel of two teenagers who meet on the flight to South Africa, for one it is a trip home, for another one a first flight ever. They both are sitting together and one by one starts conversation. BUT, that would mean crossing the flying rules for Sarah, as she is not talking on flight, in general she finds conversations with strangers uncomfortable and uneasy, so easy way is to avoid them at all. For Aiden it is complete opposite, he is so stressed that he can't stop talking and Sarah seems intriguing interesting. The joke and lough through whole first flight, take a transfer in Dubai and nearly lose each other to find again on next flight.

How long is show more one flight from London to Durban? How long is enough to know you want to know the person more? How to stop the time and not let go?

They kiss and then he runs away, she heads back home with aching heart and glad she broke off with her boyfriend before heading to meet her sister in England, and finds herself rather odd and unhappy when her ex-bf treat her as present gf and takes her everywhere, tags her along.

This is not only a light contemporary novel but also includes heavy topics when on one of the partner's are over dominant and does not accept other ones wishes and thoughts.
Having said this her ex-current boyfriend is exactly the type....

Aiden or rather Sarah are thrown in getting to know each other in Durban too, rather odd coincidence, perhaps, one may say it was meant to happen.
