Short and touching story. Really has me considering volunteering at a Hospital. I loved reading about the VolunTeen program that Deanne was a part of. Of course, she developed a friendship with a patient and it bloomed into something wonderful but if you've read most books by Lurlene McDaniel... well I'm sure you would know the way that this story ends.
I think back to this book so many times in my life when I am struggling with various trials. Something about this story resonates with me, and for that I'll be forever grateful. And a YA novel, no less. Go figure.
