Description

This is a biography of Erskine Childers, a British author, soldier and parliamentarian who fought for the independence of Ireland. A member of Sinn Fein, he was minister of propaganda in De Valera's shadow government, and during the civil war was executed by Irish Free State forces. PW noted that Childers's "martyrdom is stirringly related."
