An interesting short-ish novel. An English teen goes to an Art Summer Camp where he meets a mysterious girl with a desperate secret. The paranormal aspects are fascinating and written with a sense of growing fear. The ending is perhaps a little pat, but the twist at the end makes it believable. I liked it a lot.

First words
Just after I had taken my O Levels, Mr. Pargeter, my art teacher, said: "What you need, Michael, is competition from people more talented than yourself. At present you're a big fish in a very small pond."
Last words
(Click to show. Warning: May contain spoilers.)Love had entered this home, and I was glad to have had a part in it, because although a lot is said, written and sung about love, I don't really think there's all that much of it about.
