I squealed when I saw there was a sequel to Cinder & Ella, which I loved and devoured. I pre-ordered it and started reading it as soon as it downloaded to my Kindle... I knew this was a bad idea, but I did it anyway. And I'm paying for it today because I didn't finish until about 4:30 AM.

But it was totally worth it.

Last we saw Ella and Brian, they just found each other again. This book picks up soon after the premiere of The Druid Prince. Now that they are together, they have to deal with the ramifications of actually being together, from Brian's crazy fame to Ella's overprotective dad. I loved it--obviously, since I didn't sleep last night in lieu of reading this ASAP.

It's a heavier book than Cinder & Ella, as Oram finally has Ella show more confront some of her own issues regarding body image and her relationship with her father. But it was really good to see her have resolution, not just romantically but emotionally.
I also liked that Ana seemed like a human being instead of the resentful and hateful shrew she used to be.

Cons: Not enough Vivian. And not nearly enough Rob, who is essentially a cameo character. And Vivian's dads Glenn and Steffan were only mentioned and never got any page time. Basically, I wanted more of the background characters I grew to love in the first book.

Also, the ending seemed a bit rushed - like the author had created all these hurdles in Ella's life and she had to resolve them, but the pacing seemed off.

But I'd definitely read more in this series.

Cinder and Ella is one of my favorite books so I was ecstatic to learn that Kelly Oram was writing a second book. Just like the first book, Happily Ever After doesn't disappoint. Kelly has an amazing way of writing characters that readers can relate to and who develop beautifully throughout the book. I already know this will be a book I read again! If you like chick-lit then chances are you will like the Cinder and Ella books!

Happily Ever After
Cinder & Ella, Book 2

I Picked Up This Book Because: Continue the series.

The Characters:

Ellamara Rodriguez:
Brian Oliver:
Juliette, Ana, Mr Coleman (Ella’s Dad), Vivian

The Story:

This book picks up a week after the first book ends. Now that Brian and Ella have found each other they have to learn to navigate the world of fame together with Ella being wildly unprepared. It’s super cute, very thoughtful and ends with the all important Happily Ever After.

This seems to be written to be a duet however I’d love to see some spinoff stories about other characters. The twins or Vivian’s parents in particular and of course with cameos from Brian and Ella.

The Random Thoughts:

I love how the narrator effortlessly snuck show more in Ella’s Boston accent.

Awesome.

Parts had me tearing up because of the emotions and other parts had me laughing so hard I cried. Would like to see a third book about what happens next.

First words
My eyes drooped as I lay stretched out on the plush couch, head propped up on the armrest, staring at the computer on my lap. It was getting late, and the words on the screen were all starting to blur together.
