I liked (but didn't love) the illustrations. I agree with Kathryn that the message of the story is terrible - but I guess I can think of it a bit more comfortably if I think of the story as maybe true to its time. Otoh, Curry can't seem to make up her mind about class differences - are beggars people? Do the poor have the same rights as the rich? Is Cleges a better person once the king learns his identity? Just a weird story. Definitely not recommended, even if you're curious about the diversity in the reviews here.
