Some books in a series can be read on their own. These are not able to stand alone. They only work when read as a series.
Things are finally getting good.
I like Billy and Tate. But I'm not sure Tamara is worth saving. She has no interest in breaking free. When she is unlinked to the Baby all she cares about is getting the connection back.
