First off, I will definitely have this book when I become a teacher. The title alone is enough to attract a child. Firstly because it is a question and is likely to get the child thinking, secondly because children love dinosaurs. I could get the attention of a whole class with this book, they would see it as storytime, something fun for most of them. Then before they know it they are learning about the entire water cycle! This book literally teaches the whole water cycle and couples it with some lovely and entertaining illustations. There is even a bit at the end that talks about what the children can do to conserve water, to show that they can get involved and that it is relevant to their lives. I would totally use this book to show more introduce a section on the water cycle. Also, there are pages where you have to turn the book sideways to read it. I thought that was pretty cool and likely to hold a child's interest. show less
I enjoyed the illustration and overall concept of this book, especially idea of humans drinking the same recycled water as dinosaurs. My favorite illustration is on the fourth page and features two children sitting at a table in the corner of the page while they imagine a large dinosaur drinking water in a thought bubble above them.
I thought this was quite the cool book. It starts of telling you how important water is to us and all living things, then shows the different forms that water takes. My favorite part was when it drops the bomb on you that all water on Earth has been here for a really long time. Water has been recycled thousands of times, meaning that the water that you drink could have, at some point, been drank by a dinosaur! To clarify the point, the book goes into (what I think is) a great explanation of the Water Cycle. The book closes by reminding us how important water is, then letting us know that our water supply is in danger. Our water supply is being polluted from factory waste and other sources. I like that it closes on a more positive note by show more showing us important ways we can conserve water. show less

I absolutely admire this book. It was very interesting and engaging to read. The book also uses pictures and charts to make the material more clear. The main point of this book is the water cycle and to teach children about the importance of keeping our water clean and managing the use of water. The tone and style of the author also made the concepts very simple to understand. I would definitely incorporate this book into my future science lesson.
Did a Dinosaur Drink This Water? could be used to teach about water and all the important things that water does and it is written in a way that is easy for children to understand. It talks about the three stages of water (solid, liquid, and gas) and it gives definitions of words like molecules and nutrients and capitalizes them to emphasize their importance. The definitions are simple enough for children to understand. The book also talks about the water cycle and how the water we drink today could be the same water that dinosaurs drank. The illustrations in the book help students to understand what the text is saying.
This book focuses on the water cycle, but it covers all aspects of water use. It discusses forms of water, hydroelectric power, polution, concervation, ect. The visuals are cartoonish and the illustrator uses a soft pastel palet. I felt that he could have done a better job with the illustration of the water cycle. It seemed cluttered and confusing for a young reader. Otherwise, I liked the information and illustration relationship. The information seemed pretty surfacy and I don't think that the author really needed to be an expert. He seemed to have his facts correct. Included in the book is a final page that gives more information about, what else? Water. Teaching ideas include a science lessson on the water cycle, conserving water, show more polution, or energy. It could be used with second grade to 5th grade students. show less
This is an amazing book! I absolutely loved it. I think this is a great book to use for any science class. This book teaches children how water works, from being a liquid, to a solid, and gas. This book provides very good information that teaches children these important concepts in a fun and engaging way. All of the information in this book is factual, so it is the perfect book to use as a guide to teach a science class about this subject. The diction used is easy for children to read and understand; and the illustrations allow the reader to follow along with the information being said. Overall I really enjoyed this book and think it can be used as a great tool in a classroom.
