I am always struggling to find one that is the perfect juxtaposition of light and dark without seeming over the top or too extreme. This book manages to do it and with flying colors. I was uncomfortable yet I was intrigued. My heart hurt for Thalia but then it found a sense of peace for her. Anxious to continue this journey. Looks like I found another dark to acne author to follow. no reviews | add a review

Thalia gets kidnapped by the security guard at her company. He had been watching her for a while and thought that she was going to be the perfect submissive and sex slave. He, along with his creepy partner, train her so that they can sell her.
Poor Thalia. She goes through some awful terrible stuff and she doesn't really get an HEA with this book. She does, however, get a happy-ish ending. This is the first book of a series, and the end leads into the beginning of the next book, so the HEA will come, just not yet.
I really liked this book. It's dark and twisted, which is a Jennifer Bene trait. ( )
