This was my first foray into the world of Doc Savage, but it won't be the last. The story hit all the right fun 1930s pulp notes. One hallmark of these kind of stories is accessibility--you don't need to start from the beginning to understand who these people are. They are introduced early on, and with everything you need to know.
Recommended for anyone who enjoys the literature of a simpler time... And can get past the casual racism and sexism.
