Pim is embracing the world around her, her mind is slowly untangled from the web it was captured in and with it comes her voice. Pim knows she loves Elder, but her love is dangerous for him and she knows she keeps him from focusing. She makes a choice, to protect them both, to find herself and release him of his redemption duties. Only, their choices don't guarantee their safety whether they are together or apart and some sin must be embraced to survive the storm.

Thousands is the most character driven novel in the Dollar series, each character boasts a list of complexities that makes show more the dual POV all the more interesting. Their chemistry is a blazing fire, but the inferno only fuels the push and pull between them. Their connection, the world they live in, is built upon lies and apologies, trust and healing, and love in the midst of terror. I love that Pepper Winters gave so much thought to consequences and that the characters repeatedly thought through their actions and dealt with the consequences so magnificently. For every turn in the novel, something came of it, and it pushed it all forward, giving readers what we had hoped for from the very beginning. Pim really comes into her own and Elder's masque breaks down, revealing his realities and making both Pim and the reader fall even harder. Only, the stakes are higher in Thousands, and with each reassurance that everything will be okay Pepper Winters weaves a story that can only end in dangerous temptation and war.

"You say it's a pleasure, yet you look at me like it's a curse."

Now that ending, that was the most perfect twist. I can hate it, I can wish for a different ending, but Pepper Winters has upped the game, the drama previously was just a rolling crescendo and this is its peak. It makes me want Millions that much more, it makes me desperate to know Pim and Elder's fates, to know that their fight for one another has not all been for naught. I knew something was coming, from the very beginning, but I could have never predicted this.

The Dollar series by Pepper Winters is one of those dark, contemporary romances that you have to read to understand. From the depths of hell to the sparkling world of redemption, every facet of emotion is studied, every nuance of the character's personalities and body languages is broken down, and every link that drives and divides relationship is a subject of discussion. The world Pepper Winters has created is magical and complex, so easily pictured with her descriptive writing, and the character driven story line feels so real that I can't believe it isn't taking place right now. show less

Simply put....I am hooked.

As expected, Pepper Winters takes you into a world that’s both dark and beautiful and written so well that you can’t help but fall in love with the characters, the storyline...just everything.

In this book (number four in the series) we start digging into the meat and potatoes part of the story. We learn so much more about Elder and his past. We see Pim growing stronger and becoming more assertive with Elder. Putting a voice to her needs and demanding that they be met.

I don’t want to spoil any part of this story by putting too much information out there. The best thing that I can do for the people who are just as obsessed with this series as I am is to tell you that you will not be disappointed. You will show more be back for more because with this series.....each book tops the last.

I've gone back and forth on this. I devoured the first four books, but, at the same time, I kept hoping for something a little different. I don't mind the slavery, as terrible as it is. But Pim and Elder keep flip-flopping back and forth. I can't be with her. I can't be without her. Ugh. I'll finish the series, but it's not four stars for me.

5 blast from the past stars.

The way this author can weave characters from the past seamlessly into a different story is remarkable. Especially, when one considers how different, the storylines are in the Indebted and Tess stories compared to this one. It felt like I was meeting old friends with the appearance of the Hawk family and Q.

Elder and Pim still are on the road paved to hell in their relationship. Yet, even with the obstacles they are closer than ever. This book ended on quite the cliffhanger. I'm glad I waited until this series was complete because I wouldn't have liked to wait to read the conclusion.

I may not be able to survive until the next one comes out! Just as Pim and Elder are getting things figured out, along comes something to mess it up! Pepper is definitely trying to kill us.

Truly amazing story. Two broken people who are the key to fixing each other. Are ripped apart either by themselves or by others. Some people from past series make appearance.
