I flipping love Cinnamon Toast Crunch

Wow just wow. Pierce and Rian were both amazing characters that you just couldn’t help but loving. They both had their own issues with relationships and family drama but together their chemistry was off the charts. This book had the right combination of sexy times, swoon worthy times, angst times, and funny times. I highly recommend to any and every one. Fingers crossed Lawson gets a book 🤞🏻
I was sent this book by the publisher, St. Martins Press. My ratings and reviews will be my own personal opinions and are in no way influenced by publishers or authors who may have sent me books to review.

“She tastes like love. She feels like my future. Rian is the beginning and the end. She’s the fight I won’t give up. She’s the forever I won’t let go.”

SWOON!! I will never look at Cinnamon Toast Crunch again without thinking about Rian and Pierce. Can I please have Pierce…sorry honey!!

Helena Hunting is an author I have heard nothing but great things about. I actually own one of her books and just have not gotten around to picking it up. When I saw she had a new release coming out, I figured it was time to change all of show more that and pick it up.

This is actually book three in the Shacking Up series. I have not read the previous books in the series, and had no issue reading this as a standalone. The first book has been on my wish list forever, and I actually bought it off Amazon as soon as I was done with this.

I just loved this story and the witty writing style the author takes when meeting our two main characters, Rein and Pierce. I loved how they meet at the grocery store, and how they can not deny their attraction for one another. I found myself smiling throughout the story as they continued to bump into each other. It was a great steamy romantic comedy.

I Flipping Love You is an adorable, sexy read. I love HGTV so I was excited to read a rom-com involving flipping houses.
I adored Rian and Pierce and the dynamic between them. There was minimal drama with amazing chemistry. The best part was despite the instant attraction between the two, there was no insta-love. In fact, Pierce didn't make a very good first impression - although it was thanks to a case of mistaken identity which is quickly cleared up.
Shortly after their first meeting, they begin running into each other everywhere and it's not long before they give in to their attraction. The relationship that develops from there is wonderful. Rian and Pierce both have hang-ups but they manage work through them and don't let it affect show more their relationship - I can not tell you how refreshing that was to read!

Highly recommend if you're looking for a delightful, oh-so-steamy romantic comedy!

Helena Hunting makes house flipping and the real estate world sound fun in I Flipping Love You. A hilarious, sweet, and sexy read, I Flipping Love You features Pierce and Rian, a new couple with an unfortunate not so meet-cute and chemistry that sparks at a single glance. With the dust settled these two start a fling before realizing their business ventures are tied together and they must separate business from pleasure. Things get a little messier when Rian's covered up past is uncovered and Pierce's personal life rears its head, revealing that both are afraid of commitment, but not afraid of each other. It's a lesson in trust and lust for the two, because it can't just be an easy summer show more spent flipping houses.

"I want to find out if she kisses like she's fighting or submitting. Or maybe both."

Helena Hunting is always funny, but also manages to write sincere romance that isn't predictable. Anyone who watches HGTV or DIY knows about the flipping homes craze, but I personally haven't seen any books featuring it, so this one was fun for me. I really appreciated that both Rian and Pierce were multi-faceted characters; their day to day lives and interactions were not solely focused on home sales and fixer uppers, but also on their emotional and physical connection, their personal lives with family and friends, and the pasts each has that leaves them with a bit of commitmentphobia. Told from their alternativing first person perspectives, Rian is a spunky girl with a desire to be better than her past told her she would be and Pierce just wants to finally make a career out of something he enjoys rather than something he's told to do. Both of their end goals make them perfect business partners or perfect enemies, but what Helena Hunting does with their personal and business relationship is even better. I really liked both main characters and reading their romance was laugh out loud funny and awe-worthy sweet. Yes, they sneak off to romp in every home and in various other locations, but they also learn to share and lean on someone besides their own family. The characters are more mature but I sort of liked that the character development in the novel was simpler. It was the perfect nice, light-hearted read I was hoping it would be.

"I am stretched with a capital S. Maybe even all caps. Shouty ones. It looks so hot."

I wanted to read I Flipping Love You, because I love any shows about flipping houses, but I also really, really, REALLY liked the cover. The model is both adorable and handsome and grabbed my attention right away. Turns out cover lust led me the right way this time. I Flipping Love You is a standalone, but if the other books are anything like this then they're going to be winners for me, for sure. I highly suggest this one, it's the sort of book you can read repeatedly and still enjoy.

"The desire is visceral, a shimmer in the air, a heat in my veins, and a fire in his eyes. That is what wanting someone is."

I Flipping Love You is the third book in the Shacking Up series by Helena Hunting. The main characters are Rian who has a twin sister and together they are flipping houses and Pierce a patent lawyer who doubles as a house flipper in his spare time to help his brother. I was not a big said of said brother and actually, I was not a big fan of either sibling. Hunter might seem little harsh in the beginning, but if someone had done damage to my car and then just vanished, I would have also been upset. The story was good and the main characters likable. I liked the growth in their relationship and in their characters. I would recommend the book.
This is one of those cases where if the author's sense of humor and sexytimes works for you, you'll love the book. If you're not in the right mood and/or can't ignore the immensely privileged background of the main characters, you'll struggle a bit. I found parts of the book really enjoyable and funny. I also really resented the fact that both characters came from privilege, even if one of them had terrible parents who abandoned her and her twin at age 17 with $10,000 and nothing else. In my head, I'm thinking $10,000 is a lot of money and a lot more than most people with terrible parents get? Then again, how do you write a book about house-flipping if the characters don't have the capital to buy houses. (You don't.)

This book gets major show more props for consistent, responsible condom use and for sexy sex. It gets points off for use of the term "lust button" as a euphemism for clitoris. I hated the first in this series (DNF) and this one was such an improvement. The hero is not an alpha jerk and I genuinely liked both of the main characters. Overall, I rated it 3 stars, but it's at 4.22 on Goodreads, so I think Helena Hunting is an autobuy for a lot of readers. show less
Once upon a time, this kind of romantic comedy tickled my fancy - in proportion to how much the humour appealed to me - how witty and clever it was, as I saw it.

This novel might have been more light and entertaining and therefore successful in its intent if it wasn't about flipping! I don't find this an amusing subject. The extent to which it has touched my life was far from an escapist fun experience. Just stress, work, and unappealing competitiveness.

I enjoyed the start and the interaction between Rian and Pierce. But too much Rian's POV, probably my bias towards anything Jacob Morgan narrates.

As it got into the weeds of real estate, I put the audiobook aside at the 63% mark.
