This historical glimpse into two men's lives flows quietly like one of the peaceful streams Erim and his lover, Adair, cross on their journey to Adair's home for the Samhain celebration. The differences between the two men are clear, but they don't let them interfere with the growing love between them.

Erim isn't good with words, and, as a soldier, he doesn't need them often. But he observes people with as much attention as he pays to his surroundings and he knows what's right. I loved to see him gradually come around to the point where he does open up and tells, as well as shows, Adair how he feels.

If you like quiet stories with a lot of attention to detail and enjoy watching two lovers work through turning points in their lives that show more make them stronger, both as individuals and as a couple, you will probably like this one. show less
