“I think sometimes it’s easier for a man to be the worst version of himself than to let the world keep breaking his heart.”
Fans of slow burn romance will love Burn For You, the first of a new series by JT Geissinger. It is hilariously funny, full of sexual tension that keeps you on the edge of your seat, and a tortured hero who doesn't believe in love.
“The first time I laid eyes on the man known throughout the state of Louisiana as the “the Beast,” I thought he couldn’t possibly be as bad as his reputation. As it turned out, I was wrong. He was worse.”
Burn For You is a beauty and the beast inspire romance with a fake marriage trope incorporated into the story. However, I wouldn’t consider this a fake marriage more like show more a marriage of convenience as they’re not really trying to fool anyone and this marriage doesn’t happen until half-way through the novel. I was expecting it to happen in the first quarter as that was the tagline of the novel, but it didn’t bother me. I loved the sizzling chemistry between Bianca and Jax, building up to their decision to marry. The writing kept me engrossed with the funny dialogues and backstory of the hero that I didn’t mind how long it took to get the marriage plot.
For those who love epilogues, I’m afraid to say there isn’t one. I’m not one of those who must have an epilogue as long as the story concludes to my satisfaction. And this one did.
“Oh please, Jackson, you’re so highfalutin, you think your shit tastes like sherbet.” show less

Enjoyed this. A very feisty heroine. But I didn’t get a feisty for no reason or trying too hard vibe. There was a good feel for place which was New Orleans. This was an interracial romance and I thought it was well done. Each of the were clearly of their race but were not caricatures of their race. They were not just bland characters. Sometimes I feel that author’s just say this person’s skin is X color and makes no more effort than that. Here they were much more well developed but the story and conflict was not about race. So well done. Also good dialogue and a believable relationship.
4.2 stars
I enjoyed this story. It came with narration too which was nice because I was able to just listen to it which was much needed due to awful allergies.
Great characters and setting. Having been to Louisiana and New Orleans I could picture the surroundings, the food, and the accents.

I’d rate this one a 3.6-ish star book. I had no idea what this book was going to be about. I didn’t read any summary or any other reviews or anything. A friend of mine said it was a five star, so I immediately started reading it with no idea what I was getting myself into. That being said, it was such a delight to uncover each trope as I got to it. So by the time I found out this was going to be a enemies to lovers/fake marriage/marriage of convenience type of story, I was so excited. Overall, the characters were fun, and the story was pretty good. I enjoyed this.
This book! It gives you all kinds of feels. It has anger, lust, loss, love and humor all rolled into one and it’s amazing to behold. The dialogue between all the characters is amazing, the story doesn’t leave you hanging in anyway. This is definitely one book you will want to read. Told in dual POV.
My first book by this author, I really enjoyed it.
It was a bit different for me, at first I wasn't sure if I was going to keep reading but I got in to it and it was funny, also a little sad. The characters were amazing.
Slow burn just the right speed.

Received an ARC for my fair review for netgalley. This was an o.k. book, it is not something that I would read again nor really recommend. I am not saying that it is bad, it's just that it didn't grab my interest. I finished reading it hoping it would get better, I didn't think that it did, but it is also not deserving of being torn to shreds. Book is about a restaurant owner Bianca, who although her restaurant is popular is still struggling financialy. Enter Jackson, who is a bitter man and he has his reasons. They are attracted to each other, and go into a fake relationship.. We find out why Jacson is the way he is, and why Bianca agrees to arrangement.
